Hi, I'm back with another picture of a card that I made.  I must say, I love this card--I cased it from Jackie Topa--here is her u-tube video on how to make the card: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rm58mBAbxE8&feature=player_embedded#at=25

I changed the size to make mine a little bigger and I used the SU decorative label punch instead of the SU Curly Label punch and I added 1 more step on the right side too.  Her lace coming out of the dresser is much better than mine---well, to tell the truth--her whole card is---but this is my first one and I am happy with it.  Jackie has such wonderful ideas and she shares and shares her tips too--awesome.  You should check out her blog too at : http://jackietopa.typepad.com/

Here is the picture of the card:

Thank-you Jackie for making this awesome card--this is the card I sent to Gloria for the August mingle.
Thanks for looking

Office cards

Hi,
I made 3 cards last weekend and never got a chance to post them. Well, the truth is---I  forgot my camera ( I think I have a mental problem with my camera)--anyway, one of the girls at work (Denise) had her camera and took these for me.  We had 3 promotions at work, and I made the cards-1 female and 2 male cards ( male cards are so hard for me). Anyway, the cards are really the same, just changed the dp and images. Each card had an insert of another page and on that page, I put the 2nd ( or inside image). By doing this, it just made more room for people to sign the cards and write their little comments. The 3 blank pages each had congratulations on it. So, here is the first card: LOTV images
 and here is the inside:
Here is the 2nd card with Mo Manning's digi images:
and the inside image:
and the last one--these are 2 digi images--forgot the name of the 2 companies--will go look them up and come back and edit:
and the inside:
If you flip the inside image back a page, it opens up to 2 additional pages that each have congratulations on them for the writing ( or signatures).  You can  click on the images to enlarge.  I think the camera was a little too far away.  Live and learn, right
Hope you like them and thanks for looking

Hi everyone,
Hope you all had a good weekend--they sure do go fast!!  But the big long weekend is coming up................ just 5 more days !! I made 2 cards that I am posting.  The first one is for the monthly raffle at work.  I make a card and we draw names, this time my friend Janie got the card and she was real happy.  The image is from my friend Gail.  It is a Sarah Kay image and I just love her, thank you Gail!!
Here is the card--you can click on it to enlarge:

and the next card I made is from an image that my friend Lillian sent to me. I just love this image and I am entering this in the High Hopes Challenge #111. I do want to win because I "NEED" to have this stamp!! The theme this week is stars and stripes--but you must use a High hopes stamp. Check out their site at: http://highhopesstamps.blogspot.com/2011/06/challenge-111-stars-and-stripes.html

Here is the card:

You can click on this card to enlarge also. I had planned on putting grass under the poles, but I didn't want to cover up the little frog on the dp on the left ( plus time was getting away from me again!!) Thank-you Lillian!!!
Hope you liked them.
Have a great night

Hi,
I'm back and I have a new card for the High Hopes Challenge #110--favorite Pet or Animal.  You can see all the details on their blog: http://highhopesstamps.blogspot.com/2011/05/challenge-110-favorite-pet-or-animal.html And of course, one of the requirements is to use a High Hopes Stamp. They sure are a lot of fun to color and work into a card. The picture came out a little blurry--I use to always think it was the camera, not I'm not too sure :)
Hope you like it:

Thanks for looking

I would like to share with you a card that I made for my Priest, Father Zanek.  He is celebrating his 15th year as a priest. I wanted the card to be special and knowing my talent or lack of---I decided to get my inspiration from the best. So, over I went to Becca Feeken's blog: http://www.amazingpapergrace.com/
She has amazing cards, altered projects and great tips of all sorts.  She also designs for : http://www.ourdailybreaddesigns.com/   I looked at her cards ( as well as other people) and I fell in love with this card by Becca: http://www.amazingpapergrace.com/an-example-you-should-follow/#.  She made this card in October 2008.  I did get Becca's permission to case her card too. So, I changed my card around a bit--didn't want to give him a bow ---I hope you like how it came out.  To be honest, I am happy with it. I do not know how Becca did the punching of the cross--I tried so may times and couldn't get it --mine would be to close to the next cross or wouldn't punch through the cardstock correctly.  My husband, Wayne finally took pity on me and did it for me!! Yeah and thanks Wayne.  I got him to punch out 2 more that I put away for another time :)
Anyway, here is the card:  You can click on any image to enlarge

I didn't have the right size punch or nestie for the saying, so I have the Cross Shapeabilities from spellbinders that I used in the center. I also used one of the larger ones on the inside.
Inside of the card:

and I close up of the saying:

I did the cracked glass technique on the oval.
And the last picture is of the larger Cross from the shapeabilities--I put a piece of cheese cloth behind the cross and popped it up with a dimensional.
Thanks for looking and have a wonderful week.

I have a couple of cards that I would like to share with you today.  The first one is for my friend Lillian--wanted to bring a smile to her face:
We are all looking for these legs --beach time is coming--if it ever stops raining.
And the next one is the May mingle I made for my friend Gail--she is across the miles--hence the map background:

and here is another view of the front with the tag pulled out to read:

Didn't crop this one--darn~~~~ You can click on any of the pictures to enlarge--but don't look too close at the coloring!!

Will be back later to post another one that I made but haven't downloaded to the computer yet.
Hope everyone is having a fantastic long weekend.

I made a card for the High Hopes Challenge #108--Anything goes ( as long as you use a High Hopes image).  Hope you like my take on the image.  I used my copic markers and I think I'm getting a little better with the blending of the colors. This was a real fun card to make.

I took the picture of the card myself-- (Heather wasn't around).  Not real good with the croping of the card, but this too will get better in time. You can click on the image to enlarge if you would like.
Happy Mother's Day to you .

Made a card for my LNS group for April and my partner was Lillian.  I was a little late in getting this out to her ( hope this is not becoming a pattern of mine ).  Anyway, she got this the other day--before the end of the month!!! This is an image from Mo Manning--just love the image and hope you like it too.

I just love the look of pink and green together.   You can click on the picture to enlarge if you would like.  Thanks for looking and have a great week ~Monnie

An Easter Card for Lillian:
I downloaded this card on Friday, but Lillian didn't get the card until today  (Monday)---a day late :(     I thought I had carrot brads ( I know I do somewhere--ugh!!) and couldn't find them, so I used a crazy button on the card instead.  That is what took me so long in mailing the card----it was like an Easter egg hunt looking for those brads.  They will pop up when I'm not looking for them.   This is a High Hopes image and lots of fun to color.   Hope everyone had a great Easter.

Got another card to post.  This one I make for  MaryKate, my friend Lori's daughter.  She just turned 14--ah to be young again.  This is my very first digi image and it is from Mo Manning.  Just love it--great for teenagers

And here is the inside of the card:

That is a little heart charm that is hiding under the bow.  Heather took these pictures for me again.  I really Love Mo Manning's images.  You should check them out at Mo's digital Pencil Shop : http://digitalpenciltoo.com/  You will love them too and her prices are good.
That's it for now~~~~ enjoy your weekend

Cabio has some blog candy on her blog, check it out and her beautiful card too:

Cabio's candy blog ends on April 12, 2011

Cabio really does do beautiful cards !!  Got to meet some of these talented people and have a little talent rub off on me.
On the bright side, my friend Heather Padgett said she would take take pictures of my cards whenever I wanted---that may be a mistake on her part--hee hee.  She really has been a lifesaver for me.  With my luck, I'll go to work one day and want a picture of one of my cards and she won't be in. Must have a plan--so whenever I know I'm bringing in a card, I'll check to make sure she is not off!! Sounds like a plan to me.

Monday, March 28, 2011

Hi, I have a couple of new cards that I would like to share.  The first is from LOTV .  A friend at work was leaving ( retirement--yea!!) and moving to North Carolina--another big yea. Hope you like it:

Again I forgot to take my picture, so my friend Heather at work took this with her cell phone----pretty good for a cell phone camera, don't you think?

and here is another LOTV card that I made for my friend Lori---50 is a hard one--been there--50 wasn't back for me--40 was the hard one.  Oh well, here is the card:

Yes, I didn't take this with my camera--Heather did it again for me !! You see, I keep forgetting to take my chip out of my computer--so when I take my camera to work to take the picture--it doesn't work-dud?  Think I would learn. Maybe if I allowed myself a little more time, I'd take the picture at home---but then where would the fun in that be?
Have a great week
Monnie (aka Monica)

Card for Work

Posting a card that I made today for work. My department at work is thanking another department for the help and hard work they are doing for us. We bought them cookies and they will be delivered to them along with this card ( after everyone signs it). Hoping they will like their surprise and the card too !
Here is the card:

and here is the inside---enough room for everyone to sign:

I think I got a little too close for the picture on the front of the card--not as clear as I would have liked it.
Well, that's it for today.  I give eveyone so much credit that can make 2 or 3 cards in one day.  Maybe if I plan my cards ahead of time it would be easier and faster--you think?
Good bye weekend and hello to a new work week.

I made a St Patrick's Day card for my February Mingle swap at LNS.  This card is for my friend Gail Lass. Gail loves lace and I tried so hard to put some on the front of the card, just didn't work out............ but I put some inside just for her :)
I used my Irish Maggie. It's funny, when you are making a card ( or at least with me), sometimes I struggle with how I want it. BUT, when I'm all done, I then can think of a zillion things I could have done. Ah, will have to try and store those ideas for the next time. Here is the card:

and here is the inside of the card:

The lace was just too wide and didn't look right on the front.
 Have you ever made a card and put it in a safe "place" and then forgot all about it?  Well, I made a get well card for Gail and did that.  Out of sight (and my fault)--out of mind ( that is happening to me a lot lately!!).  Anyway came across the card today and almost died--thought for sure I had mailed it.  Now that is a BIG OOPS.  Sent it off to Gail today along with the St Patty's card--with a note;

Here is the card ---kind bright, don't you think?

And here is the inside to that card:

Ha Ha, maybe it was a good thing she didn't get this when she wasn't feeling well.
Have 2 more cards I'm working on--when I get them done, I'll post them.
Have a nice day.

Sunday, January 30, 2011

Thought I would  post another card that I made.  Of course, it is one of the Gurlee Girls---this one is called Kisses Girl.  She is such a honey.  I made this for my LateNightStampers Mingle for January --secret swap. I was late and only got it in the mail on Saturday--the 29th--it should have been in the mail on the 25th---but the snow was not on my side--so it will be a few days late.  Hope she likes it and the goodies that I'll be sending too.
and this is the inside:
Well, that is it--going to keep at this weekly until I feel comfortable with it and then will try more "stuff" on the blog.
